Cheeky Chickies owes its success to a group of passionate mums from the Sutherland Shire of Sydney, Australia! At Cheeky Chickies, our mission is threefold: We are committed to our passion for colour, and bringing bright bold funky products to the lives of children around Australia! We are committed to sourcing quality products, that are a little bit different, but still at an affordable price! We are committed to providing an outstanding service to our funky mums, bubs and kids throughout Australia, making our products accessible through our Web Store, Funky Fundraisers, Cheeky Parties and other events in your community!!
The Cheeky Chickies Story!! As a new mum on maternity leave, I was trying to work out how I could financially return to my job as Counsellor, on a part time basis, whilst still be able to make the repayments on our mortgage? A dilemma I assume many mums out there have faced! As luck would have it, I was presented with the opportunity to purchase an existing Internet business, Bold Angels, which catered for babies, children and mums! The first task was to come up with a new name and logo! Some credit must go to my old friend, Joolz, who through high school called me Miss Mud (as my maiden name is Clay), and after I was married, commenced calling me Mrs Chicken (as my married name is now Fowle)! We also give credit to our very own Cheeky Chickie, Amalia Mai, as she is our delight and inspiration!! Lastly, credit goes to a soft toy that was given as a present to Amalia upon her birth (thanks goes to the Howard’s!), this fat, round chicken hangs above Amalia’s car seat, and when it bounces, it makes a “chirpy” noise. We had affectionately named it the Cheeky Chickie! I have had so much fun since entering this industry, memories of our first trip to Melbourne’s Gift and Homewares Trade Fair, racing around the two enormous venues, bub in baby bjorn, trusty assistant, aka Mum, in toe!! The most exciting times though, have been when I have found new, funky products, that are quite unique, but still affordable! Whenever I have had Amalia dressed in something that was not your standard pink or pastel, everyone has commented, and enquired as to where it came from! Now that I am in the industry, I am passionate in my search for clothing, accessories, gifts and homewares that are bright, funky and different!! There are so many gorgeous colours out there, I have never understood why babies and children’s clothing has been so limited to pink, blue or pastel??!!
